Outrigger Fiji’s new look pool opens with a splash

CORAL COAST, FIJI –  Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort’s lagoon pool has reopened with a splash with guests applauding its FJD$460,000/USD$215,000 renovation.

The 900,000-litre pool, one of the largest in the South Pacific, boasts a new surface,  water-line tiles, lighting to allow evening use and enhancements to the landscaping and was officially opened on Feb. 29.

Not even Tropical Cyclone Winston could dampen the spirits of the engineering team, hosts and management who ensured that the renovations were completed on schedule.

General Manager Peter Hopgood said the pool upgrade meant the resort now had two world-class pools with the renovated lagoon pool complementing the adults-only Vahavu pool precinct which has a swim-up bar and bistro.

“The lagoon pool is popular with families and they love the new look,” he said.

The family-friendly resort features include a MeiMei nanny service offering  care for infants aged 6 months to 12 years and Kids Clubs – Little Riggers for ages 3 to 7 and Beach Riggers for ages 8 to 12 years. A Teens’ program which mixes cultural and sporting activities to keep young adults engaged is also available.

In addition to the Vahavu pool complex, parents also have exclusive use of Bebe Spa Sanctuary, Kalokalo hilltop bar perfect for a peaceful  sunset cocktail and the resort’s signature fine-dining restaurant, Ivi.
