Perpetuating Hawaiian music and culture is a long-standing commitment at Outrigger
WAIKIKI, HONOLULU, HAWAII – When the sun goes down, the music will crank up at the 2013 Ke Kani O Ke Kai summer concert series at the Waikiki Aquarium, presented by Outrigger Hotels and Resorts and offering live performances by some of Hawaii’s most popular performers. As a kama`aina company with a 66-year-history of doing business in the islands, this sponsorship underscores the unparalleled commitment Outrigger has for preserving Hawaii’s rich cultural heritage.
According to Dr. Chuck Kelley, chairman of the board of Outrigger Enterprises Group, Outrigger believes in the importance of sharing the diverse elements of Hawaii’s history and culture with both visitors and kama`aina. To make this vision a reality, Outrigger avidly supports local musicians, entertainers, dancers and artists who hone their craft locally, by giving them the opportunity to share their talents through sponsored events like the Ke Kani O Ke Kai concert series, or through cultural guest activities offered at a number of Outrigger properties across the state.
“As a local company founded in Hawaii, Outrigger is deeply dedicated to perpetuating the host culture, throughout our properties and within our surrounding communities,” said Dr. Kelley. “We are proud to sponsor the Ke Kani O Ke Kai concert series because it fits so perfectly with our company’s vision and values, and brings families and communities together, one song at a time.”
