HONOLULU, HAWAII – In recognition of its impeccable attention to detail and innovation in hospitality, Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort has won the coveted “Exceptional Achievement by a Hotel” award from Outrigger Enterprises Group. The announcement was shared at the 2016 Outrigger Po‘okela Excellence in Leadership Awards held in Honolulu in late April.

The Po‘okela Awards, covering all 37 Outrigger and affiliated properties in six countries, recognize exceptional employees, teams and properties that have made remarkable contributions to the success of Outrigger. It is designed for Outrigger to express appreciation for its team members, honor excellence and celebrate the embodiment of ‘The Outrigger Way’ of caring for guests, hosts and the community surrounding the resort destination.

“Being one of the newest additions to the Outrigger portfolio – it’s inspiring to see Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort excel in key areas of operations and sales,” said Paul Richardson, chief operating officer for Outrigger Enterprises Group. “Our hosts at this majestic property work tirelessly as a team to ensure that guests who seek the best of Mauritian nature, culture and hospitality have the experience of a lifetime.”

Since opening in April 2014 – the deluxe property has proven to be a sanctuary on the sea for families and couples alike. With 181 sea-facing rooms, Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort rests on a breath-taking beachfront location alongside the turquoise lagoons of the Indian Ocean. Nestled in the nature reserve of Bel Ombre, just 45 minutes from the airport, Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort blends the needs of the most sophisticated traveler with the charm and tradition of an early 18th century Mauritian sugar cane plantation. The resort features the locally renowned Plantation Club — famed for its Mauritian dining — a wide choice of relaxed dining outlets, a kids club, Navasana Spa with hammam, and many water sports including kite surfing.
