Outrigger welcomes two managers to its Waikiki beachfront team

HONOLULU, HAWAII – Outrigger Resorts is pleased to announce that Mayukh Chatterjee and John Shelton have been named the new area director of revenue management and director of food and beverage, respectively, for both Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort and Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort.

Chatterjee is responsible for identifying and maximizing all potential revenue opportunities for Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort and Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort by formulating long- and short-term revenue management strategies and overseeing execution toward the advancement of RevPAR market share.

Chatterjee was director of revenue for InterContinental Boston; senior market manager in San Francisco and market manager in Miami for Expedia; regional revenue manager for IHG in Atlanta overseeing IHG Extended Stay brands; and revenue manager for the Crowne Plaza Tulsa Hotel. Having held management positions in food and beverage and also front office, Chatterjee adds valued operational experience to the task at hand.

A graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, Chatterjee holds a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis on hospitality administration and marketing. He also has a diploma in hotel management from the Institute of Hotel Management in Kolkata, India, and a Bachelor of Arts from Delhi University in New Delhi, India.

Shelton leads Outrigger’s beachfront resorts’ culinary and food and beverage service experience to include the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort’s Voyager 47 Club Lounge, freshly opened The Reef Bar & Market Grill and banquet programming development.

Shelton’s culinary background includes some of the most celebrated hotels in California and began as an apprentice breakfast cook at the Ritz-Carlton, working his way up the ranks as banquet chef, chef de cuisine and fine dining sous chef positions. His chef roles include regional area chef for Starwood Hotels crisscrossing the country opening properties and directing culinary global events, managing the kitchens of the iconic Century Plaza hotel and most recently leading the famous Hotel Del Coronado kitchens for 11 years.
