Chef Aurelio’s “Mother’s Day” menu features Sautéed Maine Lobster with a Champagne Butter Sauce, Alii Mushrooms, Sugar Snap Peas and Saffron Jasmine Rice priced at $38.00. Also on the menu is a delectable Grilled Apple Smoked Bacon Wrapped Beef Tenderloin served with Hawaiian Ratatouille and Herbed Mashed Potatoes for $32.00.
No matter which meal Mom chooses, she will be delighted with the accompanying gift of music by Grammy nominated and three time Na Hoku Hanohano Award Nominee Kahulanui.
Known for their big-band style of music, Kahulanui receives inspiration from the band leader’s grandfather, Robert Kahulanui Naipo, a member of the Royal Hawaiian Band during the era of the 20s and 30s. Kahulanui is made up of a core group of four musicians: Lolena Naipo on lead vocals and guitar; Patrick Eskildsen on electronic bass, lead guitar and vocals; Tim Taylor on drums and percussions; and Duke Tatom on ‘ukulele and vocals.
As one of Honolulu’s hot spots for live entertainment, Kani Ka Pila Grille, which translates to “let’s make music” in Hawaiian, is a great place for all to enjoy.
