OUTRIGGER Resorts and Hotels proudly celebrated outstanding achievements at the 2024 Holidays with Kids Reader’s Choice Awards. Both of OUTRIGGER’s iconic Fijian properties were recognized for their excellence, with OUTRIGGER Fiji Beach Resort winning the coveted #1 Best Family Resort in Fiji – 5 Star and Castaway Island, Fiji securing the #2 spot for Best Family Resort in Fiji – 3 and 4 Star. These prestigious awards reinforce the long-standing reputation of both resorts as premier destinations for unforgettable family vacations.
The Holidays with Kids Reader’s Choice Awards are a distinguished accolade in family travel, voted by more than 600,000 parents, including 83,300 online subscribers and 140,000+ social media followers. The awards celebrate resorts that consistently deliver exceptional family experiences, from engaging kids’ clubs and family-friendly dining to a wide array of kid-centric activities and facilities. OUTRIGGER’s commitment to family excellence is evident through these top honors, underscoring their leadership in the hospitality industry.
OUTRIGGER Fiji Beach Resort dominated the awards, winning #1 Family Resort in Fiji – 5 Star. Earlier this year, the resort proudly announced the completion of its multi-million dollar transformation, marking a significant milestone in beachfront hospitality and barefoot luxury on the Coral Coast. Finished in December 2023, the renovations revitalized the resort into a contemporary beachfront sanctuary while preserving its authentic Fijian charm.
The enhancements are designed with families in mind, offering upgraded rooms and common areas, and a reimagined OUTRIGGER Adventure Park. Set on 40 acres with stunning oceanfront views, OUTRIGGER Fiji Beach Resort features 253 rooms and suites, perfect for family stays. The refurbishment introduced the new “Premium Ocean View” room category and renovated the main accommodation wings, Bures, and public areas such as the buffet restaurant and lobby. A new waterslide in the main pool area has also been added for family enjoyment.
The OUTRIGGER Adventure Park is a haven for kids and parents alike – featuring attractions like paintball, a golf driving range and archery. New family-friendly excursions include a tour of the Sigatoka Sand Dunes, further enriching the resort’s offering of immersive, culturally inspired activities.
Castaway Island, Fiji, known for its stunning natural beauty and relaxed island ambiance, proudly claimed the #2 spot as Best Family Resort in Fiji – 3 and 4 Star. This recognition coincides with the grand opening of the resort’s new Water Park. Located on the scenic North Beach, this attraction is part of OUTRIGGER Resorts’ 2024 “Elevate” initiative, offering activities such as a trampoline, water slide, swing and tower.
Open daily from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, the Water Park offers flexible pricing: in-house guests pay FJD $20 for 1 hour or FJD $35 for 2 hours, while day trippers pay FJD $30 per hour. A dedicated transfer boat transports guests to and from the park, which is open to ages eight and up, ensuring a convenient and enjoyable experience for families.
