OUTRIGGER Zone Day Celebrates Ocean Conservation, June 28 at Waikīkī Aquarium

Making Waves for World Ocean Month: OUTRIGGER Hosts Community Celebration at Waikīkī Aquarium

OUTRIGGER Resorts & Hotels is making a splash this June by closing out World Ocean Month with a hands-on, family-friendly celebration at the Waikīkī Aquarium – and the public is invited.

On Saturday, June 28, from 9 a.m. to noon, the Aquarium lawn and foyer area will transform into an ocean-themed hub of learning, creativity and conservation. In partnership with the Genki Ala Wai Project, hundreds of OUTRIGGER hosts will roll up their sleeves to craft thousands of Genki Balls — small mud balls infused with beneficial microorganisms that help restore water health by cleaning up the Ala Wai Canal.

But this event isn’t just for the team, it’s for the entire community. Families can explore interactive exhibits from more than 15 local conservation groups, join in live art demonstrations from celebrated Hawaiian artist Patrick Ching, and experience the environmental art displays of Jodi Endicott. Keiki (kids) can also visit the HPD Keiki ID station, while everyone can enjoy refreshing Kona Shaved Ice on the house for active participants.

To top it all off, the event will be emceed by Bruddah Wade, whose Hawaiian tunes will keep the good vibes going. Lucky guests will even have a chance to win fun giveaways — including a free one-night stay at an OUTRIGGER Resort.

OUTRIGGER guests can attend for free with a valid key card, while general public admission follows standard Waikīkī Aquarium entrance fees.

This event is part of OUTRIGGER’s long-standing commitment to ocean health through the OUTRIGGER Zone, the company’s global conservation initiative launched in 2014 to support coral reef preservation, reduce marine debris and elevate environmental awareness.
