Historic Wins by Outrigger Fiji Chefs Navneet Reddy and Vikash Chetty

FIJI ISLANDS – Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort chefs struck Gold, winning medals in two major categories: Pacific Rim Global Chef of the Year went to Navneet Reddy and Pacific Rim Pastry Chef of the Year to Vikash Chetty.

This is a significant win for Fiji and will go down in the history books of the World Chefs Pacific Rim Regions as the two chefs who won the most prestigious awards against tough competitors Australia, New Zealand and other Pacific Nations.

These two culinary stars won the National Salon Culinaire 2018 held in November (Fiji’s National Culinary event run by Fiji Chefs Association annually), which qualified them to participate in the Pacific Rim Semi-finals held on June 23, 2019, in Melbourne, Australia.

Training, dedication and many sleepless nights got Navneet Reddy and Vikash Chetty to the win which now qualifies them to represent Fiji in the Global Chefs Challenge Finals in Russia 2020.

Navneet Reddy is the most awarded young chef in Fiji, currently holding the position of a sous chef at the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort and leading a team of young chefs in the famous Sundowner Bar and Grill Restaurant.   

Vikash Chetty is the most awarded pastry chef in Fiji and leads the pastry team at Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort where he trains many other young chefs in baking from scratch.

The key winning quality both chefs have is their love and passion for food and cooking with flair!
