Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel is the official sponsor and hospitality partner of art festival Hawaii Walls 2023, the hotel chain announced recently.

“Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel is rooted in the craft and local art scene and we are honored to host the artists of Hawaii Walls 2023,” General Manager Edwin Torres said in a statement.

The 11th annual festival, formerly known as “Pow! Wow!,” will take place from May 8-14 in the Kalihi Palama district. It will feature new murals; an exhibition by Thinkspace; talks from directors such as The Daniels, Kirsten Lepore and Justin Chon; a concert with Black Flag at The Republik; a partnership with the After Hours event at Bishop Museum; and a closing party at Hawaiian Aroma Caffe within the Waikiki Beachcomber, according to Outrigger.

Artists will gather to create more than 70 new murals at Farrington High School, Bishop Museum, Kalihi Kai Elementary, Kalihi Uka Elementary, Dillingham Plaza, Palama Settlement, and more, according to the announcement.

“Our partners at Outrigger and Hawaiian Aroma Caffe are incredibly aligned in our mission of supporting emerging artists both locally and globally,” Jasper Wong, co-founder of World Wide Walls, said in a statement. “We are grateful for their support in welcoming the artist community to this dynamic event that will shine a light on an often under-recognized area.”
