Outrigger leads the race as official sponsor of Honolulu Marathon

WAIKIKI, HONOLULU, HAWAII – Outrigger Hotels and Resorts, a longtime advocate of local athletes and sporting events, today announces its continued support of the Honolulu Marathon as the official hotel sponsor of 2017. The fourth largest marathon in the United States after New York, Chicago and Boston, the 45th annual Honolulu Marathon takes off Sunday, Dec. 10, with a 26.2-mile course through paradise offering stunning ocean views from start to finish.
Open to avid runners and walkers alike, the annual race begins at Ala Moana Boulevard and brings participants through the streets of Waikiki into downtown Honolulu, around iconic Diamond Head and through the beautiful neighborhoods of Kahala and Hawaii Kai, before finishing in Kapiolani Park. The Honolulu Marathon is unique in that it boasts no limit on the number of participants and no cutoff time, making it friendly and achievable for walkers or runners of any age and ability. The Honolulu Marathon also includes the one-mile “Kalakaua Merrie Mile” race Saturday, Dec. 9, at 7 a.m., and the “Start to Park 10k” Sunday, Dec. 10, which begins at 5 a.m., the same time and place as the full Honolulu Marathon, finishing approximately six-miles into the course in Kapiolani Park.
