Outrigger Resorts announces sponsorship of PGA kamaaina – Alex Ching

WAIKIKI, HONOLULU, HAWAII – Outrigger Resorts announced today that it is sponsoring local professional golfer, Alex Ching, as he embarks on the PGA TOUR China. Through this unique partnership, Outrigger Resorts seeks to connect with travelers from China as a part of its efforts to welcome more Chinese visitors to Hawaii and its global portfolio throughout Asia Pacific and the Indian Ocean. Ching will represent Outrigger Resorts throughout the tour, bearing the company’s logo and being an ambassador for the aloha that Outrigger offers all of its guests.

Ching was born in Honolulu, and graduated from Punahou School. He went on to play golf for the University of San Diego and turned pro in 2012. Ching has played in multiple PGA TOUR events across the world, and qualified for the PGA TOUR China Series where he tied with Jon McLean and Kenneth McCready. Outside of golf, Ching is an active waterman, enjoying surfing, body boarding, kayaking and fishing.

The PGA TOUR China is an open-competition professional golf tour that made its debut in 2014 with 12 events, all played in China. This year’s schedule features a 13-tournament slate that began in Haikou on March 30-April 5 with the Buick Open and concludes Nov 23-29 with the CTS Tycoon Championship in Shenzhen.
