Outrigger Resorts launches Chinese-language website

RELEASE NUMBER 72/15

Chinese wesite

HONOLULU, HAWAII – Outrigger Resorts recently launched a Chinese-language website to serve as a tailored resource for selected properties of Outrigger. The site, outriggerresorts.cn, which is written in Mandarin, is designed to further increase Outrigger’s engagement with Chinese-speaking customers who are passionate about beach resort travel.

Outrigger also is continuing to grow its Chinese presence online by utilizing WeChat and Sina Weibo. WeChat is a text and voice message communication service, developed by media giant Tencent in China – boasting more than 600 million users worldwide. It is very similar to WhatsApp, in that users can communicate with each other rapidly via text, voice, video or picture messages. Sina Weibo is the Chinese equivalent of Twitter and is a popular social media platform for sharing news stories, pictures, promotions, video footage with subtitles and competitions.

These new online channels are being operated by Outrigger’s Beijing-based team. Content features detailed hotel information, including room types, dining and entertainment options, beach activities, MICE services, local culture and music offerings, as well as the latest Outrigger news.

“China is one of the most important source markets for tourism in Hawaii, Asia Pacific and our Indian Ocean locations,” said Sean Dee, Outrigger’s chief marketing officer. “Our online presence in the Mandarin language serves to enhance our relationship between Outrigger Resorts and customers in China as we seek to provide guests with one-of-a-kind experiences in some of the most iconic beachfront destinations in the world.”
