Outrigger supports ‘Education for Life’ for Fiji kids

CORAL COAST, FIJI – Ninety less fortunate children living in the province of Nadroga are better off due to the efforts of  charity organization, Fiji Kids and Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort.

The concept is based on Fiji Kids obtaining sponsors from Australia and Fiji to support children for the duration of their education.

The program has been going for five years and 90 children are currently enrolled.

The program initially started with 13 children and these students are now at the stage where they are ready to commence tertiary studies.

Two years ago Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort was approached by the founders of Fiji Kids to assist with the program.

Resort General Manager Peter Hopgood  agreed and the Human Resources team took on the program as their monthly community project.

“We jumped at the opportunity to become a sponsor of this great charity. The Fiji Kids mission to provide ‘Education for Life’ for underprivileged children is an incredibly important initiative,” said Mr. Hopgood.

“In my 5 years in Fiji this has to be one of the best initiatives I have ever been involved in.  It changes these young children’s lives forever,” he said.
