Rekindle your romance this Valentine’s Day with Outrigger Resorts

RELEASE NUMBER 04/16

WAIKIKI, HONOLULU, HAWAII – This Valentine’s Day, lovebirds traveling to Waikiki have the chance to say “I Do” for a second time during a complimentary beachfront vow renewal ceremony available exclusively to guests of Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort and Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. Couples staying at either of the two popular Oahu resorts can make this Valentine’s Day one to remember with a romantic Hawaiian ceremony on the shore fronting the Outrigger Reef on the Beach, surrounded by views of world-famous Diamond Head and the Pacific Ocean. The ceremony, inspired by Hoao Paa, an ancient Hawaiian custom where a couple is bound in lasting union, is a unique way for couples to honor their love and celebrate their time together in paradise.

“We want our guests to experience all of the magic and romance that Hawaii and Outrigger Resorts has to offer, and our Hawaiian vow-renewal ceremony is the perfect setting to do that,” said Bitsy Kelley, vice president of corporate communications for Outrigger Enterprises Group. “We are thrilled to enable couples to ‘hoi hou ke aloha,’ or fall in love all over again, and provide an experience that each couple will remember forever.”

The unique cultural ceremony opens with a traditional Hawaiian chant to cleanse the past, present and future so that love may reign. Couples then exchange vows in the Hawaiian language and a gentle sprinkling of seawater preserves their love everlasting. Sealed with a kiss, the ceremony concludes with a performance of the beautiful Hawaiian Wedding Song, accompanied by a hula. As a special memento of their Valentine’s Day celebration, couples may take a picture with the officiant and hula dancer and receive one complimentary photo. A commemorative certificate will also be presented to each couple and complimentary Champagne and sparkling cider will be served.

Guests who wish to participate in this Valentine’s Day ceremony must register at 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 14, 2016, at Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort in the Ocean Tower Lobby. The Hawaiian ceremony is open to guests of Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort and Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. Couples must sign up to participate at their respective hotel’s concierge or front desk by 3 p.m. on the day prior to the ceremony.
