BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA – Outrigger Resorts representatives from Hawaii, Mauritius, the Maldives, Fiji and Thailand joined with their Australian counterparts for the Outrigger Resorts Global Showcase last week.
Leading the 21-strong delegation that visited Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland, was Vice President Corporate Communications Bitsy Kelley and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Asia Pacific, Mark Simmons.
As well as Outrigger Resorts, the Outrigger-managed OHANA Hotels, Embassy Suites, Holiday Inn Resorts® and Waikiki Beach Walk® brands in Hawaii were also represented.
Guests included key wholesalers and product managers, specialist travel agents, professional conference organizers, tourism industry partners, airlines and travel media. Outrigger Resorts communicated with almost 700 travel industry professionals during the week-long road show.
The 2015 event launched on a balmy Brisbane night at Alchemy Restaurant, Eagle Street Pier, followed by events at Rivers Edge Function Centre at the World Trade Centre in Melbourne, at L’Aqua Function Centre, Cockle Bay Wharf, Darling Harbour in Sydney and at the Maritime Room at the Viaduct, Auckland Marina, in New Zealand.
The Outrigger team stressed the company’s deep commitment to the region as evidenced by the appointment of a new and energized Australian sales and marketing team and Sydney sales office and its intention to actively seek opportunities to re-invest in the Australian market in locations that fit the Outrigger Resorts new beachfront-only brand criteria.
Outrigger Resorts will open the Konotta Maldives Resort located within the Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll in August comprising 31 beachfront villas, 21 over-water villas and a Presidential Villa. The villas will be supported by a range of facilities including innovative dining concepts, a reef adventure center and Outrigger Navasana Spa.
Guests also heard about the company’s exciting plans for future expansion into Vietnam, China and other premier beach locations worldwide.
