Alessa Quizon is a native of the island of Oahu in Hawai’i, raised on the west side in Makaha, which is famous for being a surf town … on the OUTRIGGER Resorts Surfers in Residence podcast she said that although she spends most of her time touring the world competing, traveling has made her realize just how important her hometown is.
“Getting to see different countries and it makes you appreciate home as well,” “There’s just certain places [that are special]. I’ve been to a lot of countries and it was very different and then I come back home and Hawaii’s paradise so I’m like, ‘Why am I taking this place for granted?’ ”
