New oceanfront dining destination to debut this June for World Ocean Month at OUTRIGGER Kaua‘i Beach Resort & Spa
KAUA‘I – OUTRIGGER Resorts & Hotels today announced the debut of Ocean House by Roy Yamaguchi, a new oceanfront dining experience at OUTRIGGER Kaua’i Beach Resort & Spa, opening June 2026. Led by internationally acclaimed chef Roy Yamaguchi, a pioneer of Hawai’i Regional Cuisine and one of the most influential culinary figures in the islands, Ocean House brings his signature approach to a setting deeply connected to land and sea.
Set along the shores of Kaua’i, Ocean House reflects Yamaguchi’s decades-long commitment to elevating local ingredients, blending global technique with Hawai’i’s rich agricultural and fishing traditions. The concept is distinctly his: refined yet approachable, grounded in place and guided by an unwavering respect for the ocean. Leading the kitchen day-to-day is Executive Chef Samual Taganeca, who will continue to guide and grow the existing culinary team, bringing Yamaguchi’s philosophy to life through bold flavors, vibrant colors and eye-catching textures that evoke the spirit of Kaua‘i. Together, they are building relationships with local farmers and fishermen across the island, ensuring that every plate tells an authentic story of place, a true taste of Kaua’i from ocean to table.
“The ocean has always been central to how we think about hospitality,” said Jeff Wagoner, President & CEO of OUTRIGGER Resorts & Hotels. “With Chef Roy at the helm, Ocean House becomes something truly special — a dining experience shaped by one of Hawai’i’s most celebrated culinary voices, in a setting that reflects everything we value about this place.”

The debut of Ocean House marks the culinary centerpiece of a broader reimagining of OUTRIGGER Kaua’i Beach Resort & Spa. Newly redesigned guest rooms, refreshed gathering spaces and an open, ocean-inspired arrival experience create a seamless connection to the surrounding environment — culminating at Ocean House, where Yamaguchi’s vision anchors the experience.
“Great cuisine tells a story of place — and here, that story is Kaua’i,” said Yamaguchi. “Our cooking is layered, built on depth of flavor and rooted in what this island gives us. Every dish is a vibrant expression of where we are — wavelengths of flavor that connect the plate to the place.”
Ocean House will serve breakfast and dinner, offering a culinary journey that spans the day. Signature dishes on the dinner menu include the Kauai Bag & Boil — a feast of Kauai shrimp, fresh daily catch, clams, Portuguese sausage and corn in a brown butter coconut sauce — alongside a curated selection of fresh sashimi, creative sushi rolls and a Luau Plate celebrating the full flavors of the islands. Handcrafted noodle dishes round out a menu designed to feel vibrant and deeply connected to Kaua’i’s finest ingredients, from ocean to land.

Opening in June during World Ocean Month, Ocean House reflects OUTRIGGER’s ongoing commitment to ocean stewardship, interpreted through the lens of one of Hawai’i’s great culinary pioneers. Beyond the food, the service and ambiance are crafted to provide an exceptional feeling of being rooted to the island — where every detail connects guests more deeply to Kaua’i and its remarkable natural world. The restaurant will be formally introduced in June, bringing together culinary, community and ocean-focused storytelling in a setting inspired by the sea.
