HONOLULU – This Fourth of July, OUTRIGGER Resorts & Hotels invites guests and local communities to celebrate with a distinctly Hawaiʻi-inspired tradition. Returning for a second year, OUTRIGGER’s signature “Flowerworks” experiences transform Independence Day festivities into a colorful expression of aloha, replacing traditional fireworks with spectacular aerial showers of fresh island flowers.
On Saturday, July 4, 2026, guests at OUTRIGGER Kona Resort & Spa, OUTRIGGER Kauaʻi Beach Resort & Spa and OUTRIGGER Kāʻanapali Beach Resort will gather oceanside as helicopters from Blue Hawaiian Helicopters release thousands of locally sourced flower petals above each property, creating a memorable celebration that honors Hawaiʻi’s natural beauty while offering an environmentally conscious alternative to fireworks.
Paired with family-friendly activities, live entertainment, cultural workshops and island-inspired cuisine, the annual event reflects OUTRIGGER’s commitment to creating meaningful experiences for guests and community.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of Keauhou Bay, Kona’s oceanfront Flowerworks celebration will fill the sky with color as the helicopter releases a cascade of fresh tropical flowers over the resort. Guests can then gather the blooms to create their own lei at the resort’s Aloha Cultural Center.
