Hawai‘i Artists Tommy Pierucki, Punky Aloha, Lola Pilar and More to Showcase at OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel TOMA Series

HONOLULUOUTRIGGER Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel, in partnership with Hawaiian Aroma Caffe, today announced that its quarterly TOMA (Terrace of Modern Art) series to return on Saturday, May 27, from 6-10 p.m. entitled “Local Artists for Local Lifeguards.” The free outdoor art exhibition will take place on the poolside terrace adjacent to Hawaiian Aroma Caffe where guests are welcome to enjoy light pūpū, drinks and live music while supporting the work of local artists and North Shore Lifeguard Association (NSLA).

From visually inspiring art and photography to artisanal culinary offerings at Hawaiian Aroma Caffe and Maui Brewing Co, OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel immerses visitors with a craft experience in the heart of an iconic surf destination. Drawing inspiration from the property’s ethos, rooted in the local art scene and surf culture, the TOMA event series highlights a captivating collection by renowned and emerging artists.

“We’re stoked to continue this immersive art series as a unique platform for our vibrant local artists to share their craft with visitors and kama‘āina while also raising needed funds for the NSLA Jr. Guards Program,” said Jonathan Rotmensch, Hawaiian Aroma Caffe owner and TOMA founder.

In this edition of TOMA, 12 local Hawai‘i artists will display a one-of-a-kind art piece specifically made for this event. These original art pieces will be glassed and laminated into custom-shaped surfboards by local shaper, “B Clem.”  Each surfboard will be auctioned off and 100% of proceeds go to the NSLA Junior Lifeguard Program, which serves nearly 500 youth in the summer.

In addition to this installation, four other local artists will be displaying their own unique style of live art on “Catch Surf” surfboards.  Helping create the vibe, the live entertainment on stage for the evening will be featuring the Lucky Kidz.
